IFTANA (Islamic Finance Trade Association of North America) is the nation’s first industry-wide 501(c)(6) trade association established by the senior executives of major Islamic finance organizations across North America. IFTANA’s focus is to support and advance Islamic and ethical finance through policy advocacy, Shariah compliance and standardization, comprehensive incubation support, research and publications, networking and conferences, and international collaboration. These activities are all directed at establishing Islamic and ethical finance as an influential discipline within the broader financial landscape. IFTANA is currently preparing for its public reveal at the IFN Investor Americas Forum on June 16, 2026.
Our Key Focus Areas
Policy Advocacy & Government Relations
Partner with leading global Islamic finance institutions and standard-setting bodies to ensure consistency on core principles.
Participate in international forums and working groups on Islamic financial policy.
Promote the North American Islamic finance sector to global markets and investors to attract international investment to North America.
Shariah Compliance & Standardization
Establish and promote best practices for Shariah-compliant products and services.
Facilitate the development of a Shariah Standards Board of North America (SSBNA) which combines international standards with local context.
Offer guidance and resources to help institutions implement consistent Sharia standards.
Research & Publications on Islamic Finance
Publish reports and white papers on Islamic finance trends, data, and case studies through collaboration with think-tanks, academic institutions and independent researchers.
Provide analysis on regulatory developments and their impact on the industry.
Maintain a digital library of resources for members and the broader public.
International Collaboration
Partner with leading global Islamic finance institutions and standard-setting bodies to ensure consistency on core principles.
